Mrs. Theresa Ojomo commenced her academic pursuits at Command Children School, Ikeja and the Secondary School at Mary Mount College, Agbor, Delta State from where she obtained the West African School Certificate. She then proceeded to Bayero University, Kano, graduating with a B. Sc in Chemistry.
Mrs. Ojomo has a Master’s degree in Environmental Chemistry from University of Lagos and Masters in Business Administration from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.
Mrs. Ojomo’s working career commenced during her participation in the mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) scheme which she undertook at Ideal Flour Mills Limited, Kaduna from 1991 to I992. Having distinguished herself in the course of the Service Year by virtue of hard work, dedication to duty and outstanding analytical skills, it was little or no surprise that her organization of primary assignment retained her as a permanent staff. She was appointed Laboratory Supervisor, and moved through the ranks to attain the position of Quality Control Manager in 1998.
Mrs. Ojomo moved to her present place of work, Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), Lagos Office as Senior Standards Officer. She was appointed Principal Standards Officer, Assistant Chief Standards Officer, Chief Standards Officer, Assistant Director, currently Deputy Director and Group Head Chemical Technology Standardisation.
In over thirty (30) years of professional practice of the Chemistry profession, Mrs. Ojomo has established herself as a custodian of Standards for the Chemical industry in Nigeria. She has held such positions of authority as Head, Chemical Technology, Lagos Zone as well as Secretary to the Committee on the drafting and publishing of various Nigerian National Standards for Chemical Products. In the course of this, this Amazon has supervised many officers and students on Standards drafting and publication for the use of the Nigerian public. She has also held positions as the Group Head for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Management Systems Certification (MSC) in the SON; and a lead auditor in most of the Management Systems such as Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 Standard; Environmental Management Systems (EMS) ISO 14001:2015 Standard; Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS) ISO 45001: 2018, Laboratory Management System ISO 17025:2005 and Energy Management System ISO 50001:2018 Standard.
Mrs. Ojomo was the past Vice President of Chemical Society of Nigeria, she was the Treasurer, and Membership Secretary Lagos Chapter, and the Current National Publicity Secretary of the Chemical Society of Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), She is also a Fellow of International Organisation for Occupational Health & Safety and Council member of the current Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON).
Mrs. Theresa Ojomo is a devout Christian, a Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) who undertook the pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 2009. She is married with children.
